Students from every country in Europe, as well as from Central and South America, will be heading to The Glasgow School of Art in November for INCM Alba 2015 where they will be joined by students from Scotland’s five Schools of Architecture.

The prestigious event, which is part of European Architecture Student Assembly (EASA), has been organised this year by three current students and a graduate from The Mackintosh School of Architecture at The Glasgow School of Art. INCM Alba 2015 will take place over a week, split between the two GSA locations in Glasgow and Forres, giving the international students a flavour of Scotland. INCM Alba 2015 runs from 7 to 15 November and is being supported by the Scottish Government.

The conference offers the students the chance both to get to know many sides of Scotland and to work together with one another in international collaborations.

“The theme for our event is Perception as we would like to investigate different sides of Scotland and its architecture,” explains Kitty Byrne one of the GSA student organisers.

“As well as inviting a range of speakers to share their expertise and help dispel the traditional stereotypes we’ll also have the opportunity to work together sharing our ideas and different experiences.”

“We hope to encourage collaboration between foreign students and students from Scotland’s Schools of Architecture so that together we can find new and exciting directions in international architecture, particularly as we go forward into our own professional careers.”
