The Glasgow School of Art’s School of Simulation and Visualisation (SimVis) is to be a partner in the new Tennent’s visitor centre it was announced today, 8 December 2016. SimVis will work with Tennent’s, The Creative Cell and ZM Architectureonthe new visitor centre which will be a major tourist attraction showcasing The Tennent’s Story at its Wellpark site. SimVis will create 3D digital content for The Tennent’s Story, which aims to open its doors to the public in autumn 2017.
“SimVis works at the cutting edge of 3D visualisation, harnessing innovations in the fast moving world of digital technology to create rich content,” Acting Director, Paul Chapman. “We are looking forward to working in partnership with Tennent’s, The Creative Cell and ZM Architecture on this exciting project to create an experience bringing to life the fascinating story of Tennent’s and its growth alongside the City of Glasgow.”
SimVis was also a key partner in the award-winning Battle of Bannockburn visitor experience and has recently collaborated with the University of Hull on the creation of a 3D digital interactive model of celebrated aviatrix, Amy Johnson, ahead of the Hull becoming City of Culture in 2017.

Tennent Caledonian Pours Million Pound Investment into Visitor Experience
Scotland’s oldest brewer, Tennent Caledonian, has announced a £1m investment into the Wellpark Visitor Centre in Glasgow’s East End. The planning application, currently with Glasgow City Council, will deliver a state of the art five star tourist attraction showcasing ‘The Tennent’s Story’ at its Wellpark site.
The enhanced visitor experience will bring to life Tennent’s 500 year heritage, telling the story of Tennent’s place in Scottish history, culture and sport, while promoting Tennent’s worldwide reputation as a Master Brewer of quality lager and ales.
Working closely with Scotland’s future creatives, Tennent’s have partnered with The Creative Cell, the Glasgow-based Creative Communications Agency, who are leading the project, together with The School of Simulation and Visualisation at The Glasgow School of Art and ZM Architecture.
The Tennent’s Story aims to open its doors to the public in autumn 2017.
